Full Shift for the novices cap on day 1, he needed to run yesterday to qualify but i was worried if he won well it would have blew his mark. Well he ran, hated the ground and was pulled up with Henderson saying he is fine, should drop a lb or two and be a player for that.

He's a high-end handicapper who was lucky to be placed in two weak gold cups.
I'll be the first to put my hands up if I'm wrong, but I don't see him having anything "in hand" to win a festival race against younger unexposed horses.

Yeah he's not really in the right tread as he is hardly a plot. He will be interesting of the right mark as on decent ground around there he has a great record and festival form stumps all other..

I have been taken a couple of times with him this season, especially travelling well in the hennessy in totally unsuitable conditions.

Hoping he'll be a big price and i would really fancy him to be placed at least in the right conditions

Southfield Theatre running off 150 in the Ultima Solutions Handicap is catching the eye. Currently 20/1

I'm keeping a close eye on this one myself

Only a novice last season and you can draw a line through his runs this season as Nichols stable was in disarray over the winter. He's easily a 160 chaser when at his best.

Funnily enough sothfield theatre is one of two horses that I have backed for the festival so far. Had to take some of the 20s. The other I've backed is high bridge in the bumper.

Haven't backed him myself but STD put him down as his best chance on day 1 if that means anything.

The reasoning for perfomances this year is a bad injury from the RSA last year finishing second to Don Poli. Don Poli is not one to base a form figure around imo.

He's interesting. Nichols doesn't really win handicap chases at the festival though

Had a bit on Sizing Granite ew in the market without Un De Sceaux. 12/1 looks a very fair price, he's found it difficult this year stepping out of novice but hadthe beating of Gods Own in G1 at Aintree last year and that one finished second in the QMCC last year. Gods Own might not have been at peak for Aintree after that but better ground and prospect of enjoying Cheltenham as well as question marks over all the old brigade make him interesting to me in that market

The Bolster still in the Kim Muir. Everyone talking about the big handicap on day 1 but I had been hoping for quite some time (and still am) that this is the way they go, something similar to The Package last year. He deserves a Festival win and this would be his best chance.

Likewise, that looks an awful donkey race in comparision and some of the horses that are having to give him weight have no chance. Ill eat my hat if he doesnt place in that field of that mark, he doesnt even need to improve this year but most likely will.. Looking like my bet of the festival.. I put up that bet on my own site wedneday at 16/1 ew and id be very happy with the current 14/1 available.

Not quite as confident as I was about the race this time last year but yes his chance is very obvious. I just hope that's the way they go.
