    Hey Guys,

Have had a triton t90si for about 5 years and suddenly its started to trip the electricity in the house.

I can pull the power cord and unit lights up like it ready to go.
As soon as i press the power button on the shower unit, the electricity in the house goes and the trip switch. The lights in the house still work but sockets are all out.

Ive tried turning the shower down to its coldest setting but the same results.

Ive opened it up but dont see any water in the unit so im assuming something is shot.

Anyone think is worth getting someone to check it out or am i better to just buy a new one ?
Is there a direct new replacement for the T90si ??

    Cheers

they haven't made the triton t90si in 8 years so it's older than you think. The average life OF an electric shower is 10 years. It sounds like the pump is causing the trouble. New pump is 150 supplied and fitted. New shower is around 300 supplied and fitted and comes with a 2 year parts and Labour warranty.

Could be the element either. Elements are good for earth faults after a certain timeframe.

Run the shower on cold, see if it runs then. If it does, its probably the element/s.

If you already did this by your mention of coldest setting, then pump is possible. Or water on connections or similar.

The shower should also have its own RCD or RCBO, rather than be on the sockets one. It is possible that a neutral-earth fault can cause this tripping too, and the fault does not have to be within the shower itself, although that is less likely to be the case if it is tripping the rcd with the shower on cold setting.
