Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Only saw my first 151 today.

A Range Rover Evoque - driven by an older/middle aged lady. Seems like most new car sales are for the over 40's.

What's the breakdown between petrol and diesel so far by the way?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,516 ✭✭✭Outkast_IRE

Seen a 151-C Mazda 6 Estate in Soul Red.

I have to say Mazda are producing some lovely looking cars in the 3 & 6, and that Soul Red color is lovely.

Drove behind an Hyundai IQ 10 or 20 spanking brand new today! Light sky blue colour. Usually only seen the latest 141's and 142's lately.

Just as I said I hadn't seen any, saw about 5 today!

    .....rich people

I've still only seen one 151 reg. It was a Renault Clio in a lovely red colour. There's a huge shortage of 151s in this area.

    I've not seen a 151 yet.
Never gone past 2nd or 3rd of January before without seeing one.

What's the breakdown between petrol and diesel so far by the way?

Petrol up to 23.5% of all cars in 2015. Up from 21.8% last year.

    EV/PHEV up to 1.78% from 1.73% :D

Diesel down to 74.8% from 76.3%

Friend of mine pulls up in a new Nissan Qashqai last weekend.
For the past year he's been telling me he'd go to jail before he'd pay the water charges (or household charges), cause he can't afford them.
    Begrudging......?
    YES!!

    So what?

You can be opposed to water and household charges as a matter of principle, not just because you're broke.

I also doubt that he walked into a nissan dealer and threw a bag full of cash down on the desk. If he wants to get himself into debt with a loan and pay it off over a couple of years that's his choice.

You sound like a great friend altogether

The fact that his new (borrowed) car is a cashcow is his biggest problem
Should have bought a better car.

Strange strange person clung his 151 L sportage onto my decidedly older car in a half empty car park.

I think last years thread had a pic of a new 141 Renault that went up onto a crash barrier in Cork, well this poor lad or lassie has now had their 151 sullied. Damage is light enough hopefully, but I know I'd be freaked with something similar happening.

what was the van trying to do?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,569 ✭✭✭Special Circumstances

It's like rush hour in India. Where is that?
    Lanes me arse.
Saw a bmw 6 coupe attempt a similar manoeuvre today in limerick. The plebs wouldn't move out of his way so he made his own lane onto the roundabout.
Of course the other two cars just happened to get an actual chance to go then so the all sailed off merrily 3 abreast on a 2 lane roundabout. Awesome driving.

Not sure, it's not my pic, but the junction is known for cars in the middle lane taking a sneaky right. My guess is he saw the L driver and thought he could go around if quick enough. Location is Drogheda.

Another from this week, new Seat Leon Xperience 4Drive. Was quite proper in the inclement weather.

How'd you find the 184 with the dsg Paddy?

I'll always prefer dual clutches and autos in a diesel, so thought it was perfect for the car. No issues anywhere in the worst of the weather, even took it off road for a while when shooting and still couldn't get it stuck. Really cool car.

spotted a 151 Q3 today in Galway city, a horrible orange browny mix, certainly drew my attention for all the wrong reasons.

Saw a 151 Renault Fluence dci yesterday, made me wonder why anyone would buy a 5 year old model car?

Why not? Reliable, cheap and is well specced, I'd see no reason not to.

Sure people buy "old" models all the time, look at the Qashqai, that was almost 8 before it got a new model and people bought it in droves anyway.

  • Registered Users Posts: 224 ✭✭kefir32

Same for the Audi a5 and a new one is imminent in the next year! Soooo 2007 the current one :)

Well, yes, but only an idiot would have bought one day one, so that hardly counts.

Really? Isn't it 20k+ for hub caps and A/C?

Ours back in 2012 was less than 20 I think and came with Alloys, Bluetooth + A2DP, Air Con, Cruise Control + Speedlimiter, one touch Windows all around. It's not exactly a bad spec for the money. Comfortable and refined enough too.
