Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    6-2-2 with 4 centre halfs

Looks like a diamond in midfield.

Smalling has possibly been as bad as I've ever seen a player play for United.

    Prunier? Bebe? Taibi? Djemba Djemba?

That's a very strange one taking off Shaw and Rafael and leaving mcnair and blackett as fullbacks

No wing backs in a back 4.

Taking off Shaw and Rafa and then going 4 at the back makes no ****ing sense to me.

    Raf came off. Who else?

    Edit: nevermind

You never saw Ralph Milne then.

Especially a back 4 in a diamond formation, where you rely on the full backs for width.

    Bizarre.

Not sure what van Gaal is doing here. The teams use of the ball has been a disaster all season which is a direct result of 3 centre backs constantly trying to create attacks.

Now we have four on the pitch with Fletcher...

Because they're both returning from injury and he only wanted to give them 45 mins instead of risking a reoccurrence?

Possibly but hysteria rules in this thread. :D

He'll do Di Maria for Herrera aswell all cuz of injury

They've both been involved in the last few games. Shaw played until midway through the 2nd half v Stole and 20 mins at Tottenham. Rafael has been fit for weeks.

The worst thing about the substitutions is that only one of Fletcher, Smalling, Rooney and Wilson can come off.

This games smells of Exeter a few years ago.

So he switches it up because of 3-5-2 not working and revert to 4-4-2
He should have left them on for at least ten or 15 mins to see if they could produce a cross or two or at least run at the defenders
Evans and Blackett are not going to do that well
So the only way we can score now is through the middle, where fletcher and Rooney are doing **** all
Here's hoping mata gets on the ball and di maria comes on later

Chance should have been buried from yeovil we deserve to be loosing

I can see it being Falcao to come off and it will probably be for an other defender.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

Evans nearly gifting Yeovil a goal with a flick on into the area,it's a mistake a game at this rate.

Those subs were most definitely pre-determined and there was no flexibility with them.

Do we have any other defenders?

Its not really hysteria its just not good enough against a team 60 positions below us

Hopefully it's rooney, the rest need the minutes

The subs were definitely weird. Mata on for one of mcnair or blackett and you've the same formation.
Seems strange to limit yourself to only one more change with so long to go.

    Di Maria on for Falcao

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

Thats a redicolous decsion to take off falcao

    ADM on for Falcao

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,196 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

Di Maria rather than a defender, Falcao can't play 90 minutes.

A lot can change in 2 weeks.

    ADM up front with Wilson!

Yes, like the easing back in of unfit players like he's been doing since.

I fairness Yeovil are playing out of their skins, they want to take the game to utd and their fans are completey behind them.

Romance of the cup and all that

No one is saying that it is good enough but there is a hell of a lot of hysteria being posted on here too.
