    Much like the previous What's on in the City? thread, the same principles apply.

    Here you can notify others of things; events, happenings, concerts, good restaurants, table quizzes, fundraisers, classes, for the month and following months. Any events pertaining to later months will be carried over until the event is over.

    A few rules, however;
    You have to have 200 posts or more to post, or >1 years on boards.
    Once an event has been posted in this thread don't repost it - no bumping or reminding of events either.
    Old events, too much chat, spam or topics that don't belong will be (re)moved.

    DJ Sotofett, from the enigmatic Sex Tags Mania label, lands in Galway for his Irish debut on January 31st.

    It was something we used to do when we were a fledgling night, but it's something we are going to go back to for this gig and that is to host a pre-party in the Bierhaus.
    This time however it will be DJ Sotofett taking over the reigns all night, beginning in the Bierhaus from 8pm and onto Factory from around 11.30pm where he will be seeing out the night.

    He is a man famed for his 5/ 6 hour+ DJ sets so this is a great opportunity to see him file through his expansive and multi-faceted record collection.

    Sticking with the talk of records and more so DJ Sotofett's record label, Sex Tags Mania, who he co-runs with his brother DJ Fett Burger. The label which was founded in 2004 has become one of the most unconventional sounding house and techno imprints (to label it loosely) in recent times. With it's friends and family orientated output it has become known for dance music with obvious drawn sources from reggae, jungle, psych rock, afrobeat, disco and lo-fi electronic music.

    Pre-party in the Bierhaus will be FREE with entry to Factory being the usual €5 before 12 and €8 from that point on.

    Always wanted to see the upstairs venue at Seapoint, but never found a gig you wanted to go to? Try this for size:

    Lamp https://lamp1.bandcamp.com/

    Guy Montag https://guymontag.bandcamp.com/

    Zinc

    Lamp are a curious sort. Angular guitars, irregular timings, progressive rock sensibilities and monster riffs. Finding a neat definition or genre with which to categorise the band is a challenging prospect.

    The band create as sonically dense an output as possible through the use of low tunings and sub-octave guitar pedals. The resultant effect has come to be LAMP’s almost signature sound.

    Guy Montag are an instrumental outfit from Co. Clare and although they are a 3-piece, they sound like there is a whole lot more going on. With carefully crafted songs, heavily influenced by their use of effects pedals, they create a sound that is somewhere between Math Rock and Game music. This music will make you want to dance, cheer and go stark-raving mad!!

    Zinc are something new so come get educated with us.
