I forgot, I also put a table spoon of soy sauce in before the curry mix on the suggestion of a Japanese friend of mine, it brings out a bit more flavour.

Anyway, really tasty stuff.

I made curry tonight too. Creamy chicken curry, served on a bed of rice, with some naan bread and mango chutney. It was pretty tasty

Might not be as fancy pants as Links Japanese curry but it sure as hell did the job and there was a lot of happy heads after dinner :pac:

And sure mine ain't fancy at all! Now, if I wanted to do a fancy Japanese curry, then maybe something like a Katsu-curry would do! In fact, I should seriously make that next time, would be awesome! Mmm...



Problem is, whenever I make tonkatsu, it always gets used for katsudon

I think Wagamama does a decent katsu curry, though in general Wagamama ain't the best.

Local Japanese restaurant near me does an absolutely incredible katsu curry, but the chef rarely cooks it, it's not on their regular menu. I heard the chef made up a batch of curry a while back, but kept it all for himself!

I think I started it when I mentioned I was cooking curry earlier

That was at 7! :eek: It's been simmering away slowly now since then, it'll be over 3 hours cooking, I've only just put the rice on now. I need to add the curry mix shortly and then keep stirring it. But omg, just tasting one of the carrots, nom! So tasty, so incredibly tasty, and that's not even it's final form! :pac:

Mmm, a good 3 hours to make a curry, but it'll taste amazing and hopefully last me a little while
