Couldn't really find a board for banking so sorry if this isn't in the right place. Currently abroad and want to set up a bank link to a french internet and phone provider service. They are asking for my BIC (being accepted) and my IBAN.

It won't accept the IBAN as the Irish IBAN is 22 characters long and it is looking for 27 (the french standard).

I am a bit lost of what to do so I can use my Irish bank account, anyone have any ideas? Would have thought that an international bank account number would be a pretty universal thing. Any help would be great cheers!

Moved from AH to banking. Please note their charter is now in effect.

Will they not accept a Visa Debit or Credit Card?

    Attached is downloaded from http://codex.cbnet.info/
Some countries tag a branch code onto the BIC code which forms part of an extended IBAN

In Ireland this is recognised as extra X's on the BIC (not used for Irish BICs)

Sorry, forget this, I see the international formats here: http://taxaccounts.ie/sepa-payments-iban-bic/
    (the above wont help)

Sounds like the website is set up to only accept French IBANs. Contact them by phone/email, and ask can you pay using an Irish bank account.

It's possible that their whole system is set up to accept only French IBANs, in which case they'd be breaking some SEPA/financial regulations, but it's almost certainly more hassle than it's worth to try to force them to fix it

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

    Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/boardsie-enhancement-suite/

    Chrome/Edge/Opera: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/boardsie-enhancement-suit/bbgnmnfagihoohjkofdnofcfmkpdmmce

True, I think I might just set up a French bank account while here, I will be here for nearly a year so it will make life easier for me!

Which Irish bank are you with?

I have made many payments to longer version French IBAN's using PTSB.
