One day, 35°, slightly cooler while you're kicking back at the beach, trying not to get burnt.

Another day, it's 42°, and there's a raging bush fire in the hills.

The next day, it's 23°, dropping 5° in the last 30 minutes, with torrential rain & thunderstorms.

This is Summer, and the hottest part of the year has yet to come. In Winter, Adelaide can get as baltic as Castelbar!

In the space of a week, Adelaide has seen some extremes. Because it hasn't been mentioned already, huge respect and thanks to the volunteer firefighters, and other volunteers, from both SA and interstate, who helped beat back the flames and help those in need.

This reddit thread is no longer being updated, but it has a lot of good links to information on what happened. A timely reminder for those planning on coming here, of the less fun things you can expect if you choose to live anywhere in Australia. Still, I love it here, and wouldn't live anywhere else right now :)
