Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi can anyone advise me on the following,
We live in a dormer bungalow with 2 neighbours attached to either side of our home. We have gas central heating and a gas fire. We have no chimney tho, just a pretend one apparently. The gas fire dont work and our sitting room is coldest room in the house, although the double rad is scalding in that room. I want to get a stove in this room and a back boiler, so would it be possibe?

Anything is possible , but how much are you willing to pay -
If you've a big double rad that can't heat the room - either the rad is way too small or you've serious (expensive heat loss -)
For a solid fuel stove you'll need a flue (chimney ) ,you may have to go up through your upstairs and roof -(probably pricey) , back boiler could be very complicated- depending on where you can join in to your existing heating system and weather your existing system is compatible with a back boiler anyway -

    Gas fire with no chimney.
    You sure?
    Is floor concrete or timber?
Chimney in dormer easy to do,,
Run it 60 cm above the ridge tile.
A proper built chimney shouldn't cost much more than the double skinned SS flues and will last much longer
IMO forget about back boiler, too much hassle
