Nice covering in Mayo, more in Ballina (North Mayo) than further south in Castlebar. Approx 1-2 inches.

White out here - with hail. Really heavy.
Any other day of my life, I would be thrilled today, and glued to all the weather radar data coming in.

But if there is any one point in my life I don't want snow, it's this week as my OH is 4 days overdue with our first! and I'm fully aware of the carnage and mayhem just 1cm of sticking snow can do to the country.

any other day/month/year and I'm "Bring it on"

(I still am a little bit excited about the snow though, had about 25 minutes of heavy fall this morning)

Best of luck - I'm sure it will be fine. Think how exciting it will be to have a new baby and snow together :D

I know, words cannot express the awesome.

Ideal scenario, the day we bring him home, it buckets down for 3 days solid (after he's home of course)

Delivering snow might be a bit cold for the mother.

Cork snow shield has been deployed and appears to be working to specification. ..

The C.S.S. broke down a few times outside the city, but it's back up and running flat-out now. :D

My 3 year old un-used sledge has been cleaned off and is ready for a run out. It has to happen this time....has to.

After being up most of the night snow watching I went for a nap at 7 am with about an inch on the ground, woke at 9 during a very heavy shower and there is now a little over 2 inches. I had to go out for supplies thought it better to go now before it gets worse, there is about an inch lying in the lowlands along the R285 and very little in Ballyfarnon Co. Roscommon. So now I've been out it can snow all it wants! Heavier looking stuff coming from the west now.
