Yes I can. Just arrived home via the M50 and snow is accumulating above about 800 feet.

Temp here is 2c and raining; windy, nothing special, but increasing in the past half-hour.

Do you think the western hills will get much snow today and tomorrow?
    Galway/Mayo?

Temp has fallen to 3c here, DP the same. Another 1.5 c and this would be falling as snow.

To a noob, what are the optimum conditions needed with DP & ºC for snow :)

Very basically, ideally a sub-0c DP is best for snow.

Another sleety rain shower here. 2.8c DP 1.2c atm.

On Monday 12z GFS not bad if you want snow. Warm sector is smaller, air slightly colder as it arrives and behind.

    Rtavn1082.gif

At this stage we can say with some certainty that it will be snow at first - it's a question of whether it stays like that and thus gives us a significant event. It's either going to be snow to rain or snow to rain to snow or all snow.

Is there a general consensus that next week will be cold and may have some snow in the early days of the week?

Brutal out there now. Getting the dogs in when they were terrified. Sideways rain at high speed and a bitter wind.. Settling for the night here now; not migrating tonight as they say it will ease.Stay safe all of you.

What chances if the next snow event reaching Wexford this time.

most of Leinster received little or nothing. Select parts of south Dublin and North Meath got lucky with enough snow to at least make a few snowballs.
Next week is far from set in stone but hopefully we will all get something to save this winter.

Trough line in to the north west. Could give some sleet or snow to a few spots later on.
