J1 to Santa Cruz or other places along Cali/West coast?

    Hi,

    I'm travelling to America this summer on a J1 by myself (maybe meeting an American friend while out there) I don't like the thought of turning up without a job, or getting there and not being able to find a job. Any chance anyone can recommend Santa Cruz for jobs on arrival? I will be there from the first week of June, and looking for accommodation.

    If not, any good alternatives? I'm all into planning and being organised but jobs don't seem to be advertised much on the internet yet. Would love to hear some stories.
