Itami vs Bull was fine but I love Breeze's self stick. I've read the spoilers and he has more creative ideas to incorporate it into his act.

Amazing that Dillinger and Jordan have been together for like 18 months and I barely have any impression of the team at all. I hope the break up gives Jordan a kick up the arse. There was so much postive buzz about him his first year in developmental and he completely plateaued since then. He looks like a star but really lacks in the presence and dynamism front.

Charlotte's promo was rotten. Everything I dislike about her character.

Becky vs Bayley was so good on a number of levels. Won't rehash the things I said in Becky's thread but this was her best NXT performance so far. Becky and Bayley have never had good chemistry and I thought a good match between them was something that was never destined to be. But they worked together really well to the degree I was surprised the match was just under 5 minutes as I thought it was closer to 10. Becky brought consistent limb work that lead to the finish a rarity in WWE. She has toned down dramatically compared to say 3 months ago. Lynch pointing at fans individually "in YOUR face, in YOUR face, in YOUR face..." as the segment drew to a close was gas. The age old issue is what exactly is her gimmick as she seems to be in a transition stage from her grunge rocker thing and being a Submission Specialist and suplex queen - essentially what she was on the indies.

The only awkward thing was Bayley's botched/nonathletic baseball slide dropkick which luckily they chose the best camera angle possible to show it
    MrU9ATF.gif

Such is the lack of depth in the Women's division Becky and Bayley could tell a lot of different stories with Bayley trying to find ways to overcoming all of Becky's submissions.

Kevin Owens is just so realistic he reminds me of late 1996/7 Steve Austin. He exhibits an intelligence rare for a WWE heel personality in 2015. He isn't a prankable, eejit like the Wrestlers in the Authority are.

Balor vs Kendrick was a weird one. Lots of the match were cut out people who attended the tapings said it was a **** type match. Seemingly the cuts in the match lead to NXT being 8 or 9 minutes shorter than usual. Maybe the editors edited it to fit better with Owens/Riley storyline or it had something to do with Balor's neck. Finn seemed to land really badly on Kendrick's Tiger Suplex. Had heard accounts of Balor over rotating on the bump but to me it looked like Kendrick didn't have his own arms locked in tight enough. Personally took a freaker following the match Twitter during the tapings. As Balor's future is almost to good to be true. Wrestling being Wrestling and the cruel twists of fate that can happen I thought Balor suffered this neck injury that would do him in or something. Kendrick botching a suplex with this future main eventer isn't the greatest impression to make when you are auditioning to be an NXT trainer. If the Divas match was longer I would have said it was a better match than this one. Very disappointing stuff.

That suplex was unnecessary, Kendrick could do a safer suplex than that one and probably got a bit carried away with himself.

He probably felt pressure as he had a good chance of a solid, wrestling job that he could do for a long time.

Riley is such a pain that Owens going after him will be popular.

Is Rhyno getting a trainer job or someone that might end up on the road in a Goldust role?

I really don't know what the long term plan is with the older wrestlers. NXT seems to going on the road May/June time they could be used as Wrestlers with name value to add to the match card and poster.

Kendrick has been angling for an NXT Trainer role for about four months. Rhyno is just a guy there to work with/teach people in the ring at TV tapings. As a TV show NXT kind of needs depth too.

I personally don't like the idea of loads of returning stars, like in that article above, guys like Benjamin, Carlito, Tajiri they all had there time in the spotlight , I don't want to see these guys coming in and taking up time that could be used on New Stars, Then again maybe HHH thinks he can get more out of these guys than Vince ever could

I think it is more a reaction to the Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Paige class of talent who found the transition to the main roster fairly hard. Kendrick and Rhyno are people who have worked on the main roster obviously.

I think a move that was a reaction that class of talent too was having in particular Neville and Zayn wrestle on WWE Live Events for pretty much a year now. Charlotte, Sasha and Tyler Breeze are doing the same now too.

One of Triple H's better moves was adopting a day zero philosophy to NXT and the Performance Center so in part not to carry on the mistakes, cultures and mental limitations of previous developmental systems. There's a lot of feedback and reporting that goes on in NXT. For example the Performance Center didn't have a entrance ramp to practice entrances when it first opened so when it was suggested by someone they installed one.

Yeah, when I was watching the show I kinda felt they wanted people to be surprised at him walking out, but the team was such a non-entity for me that I just didn't care in the slightest.

Could you give me a quick potted history of Uhaa? Would be interested to hear about him and why he was signed, would really appreciate it! Thanks.

It is easier to just watch him. One of the best matches of 2014:
    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1iesaf_uhaa-nation-vs-ricochet-c-dragon-gate_sport

He is a JACKED 6ft 240lbs guy from Atlanta. He is a bigger Adrian Neville who does Bobby Lashley style power moves at the same time just an athletic marvel. He's also known as one of nicest Wrestlers in the industry. He has a lot friends and fans in NXT. From Kevin Owens to Adrian Neville to Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. I really don't know of a Wrestler outside of Finn Balor who there's been more excitement among the NXT Wrestlers to work with.

Sasha is essentially in an online faction with Uhaa and his buddies Tozawa and Ricochet:
    https://twitter.com/TozawaAkira/status/571808782163968001

Becky has been a supporter too:
    https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/518149031626043392

Lots of people have recommended him but my favourite story as it is such "it is a small World" story is that Bob Holly rang Billy Gunn in Orlando, Florida straight after Bob saw Uhaa wrestle in Preston, England. "Hey there's this big jacked up guy who can fly that can actually work too."

PWTorch formally broke the news about Joe:
Samoa Joe is expected to sign with WWE to join the NXT Developmental roster later this year, PWTorch has learned.

Joe's last ROH date is unconfirmed at this point, but a potential finale is the April 25 show in Minnesota. This would mean he will not be part of the ROH vs. New Japan series in May or the "Best in the World" PPV in June.

Joe is scheduled for all March dates, including "Supercard of Honor" on March 27 in California.

Said on here when first announced he was leaving TNA that he was NXT bound.

Expect more talent in this vein to be announced joining NXT over the next month or so.

Any chance that's to pre-empt the usual post wrestlemania releases?

I don't think so. The way I am hearing it is part William Regal's influence/philosophy growing and part NXT is becoming more of a touring brand so they are ramping up the roster with cool indie talent. NXT is seeming to going to start touring around America on a trial basis May/June time.

As a related story I have heard there's increasing frustration within NXT among the wrestlers about NXT losing the run of itself as developmental promotion. We are into March now and off the top of my head I don’t think any of the in house trainees has made a NXT live event debut in 2015. NXT Live Events are getting as bad as NXT TV in terms of it being a pseudo indie show designed to deliver great matches rather than a venue for novices to learn how to Wrestle in front of people. Instead selling out and popping 500 seater crowds seems to be the thing now for NXT/Triple H. They turned away 100 people at one show recently.

Even with roster they do use on NXT live events it is Itami vs Balor and Owens vs Neville. The more NXT home grown people never get a chance to wrestle with and learn from Wrestling them in front of a crowd. You don't see say Jason Jordan vs Finn Balor.

If they are intent on being a touring brand WWE I believe they should start running NXT “academy” shows as well with actual Developmental trainees and not the Indie All Star squad.

Hopefully we get 2005 Joe. Looking forward to seeing him either way.

That's a good point, I never thought about that. It completely makes sense to. However if I was Triple H I would do the same, he has been granted this multi million dollar facility and full reign of a TV show. So when shareholders ask about how their investment is doing he can point to The indie darlings and go "look what we produced in just a year" .

I said earlier that I like the idea of them having some returning veterans but I think rovert makes a good point that the "name" wrestlers in NXT should be used to develop the less experienced guys a bit more rather than just facing each other all the time. Good and all as that is to watch.

  • Registered Users Posts: 908 ✭✭✭Palo Alto

I disagree, I think this is a rare purple patch and things will revert once the current crop get called up, I also think that WWE has to develop the best talent they can, that just happens to be a lot of well travelled indie wrestlers currently, it won't always be the case.

Trust me. Along with Samoa Joe and Uhaa Nation there's 4-5 big Indie names that are going into NXT in the next while. If the situation will change it will be a long time.

whilst i do agree that younger less experienced guys should be getting more time - thats a given! Some of the bigger signings should be working with the Jay Jordans etc....

But what i think NXT is achieving is attracting the biggest Indie Stars because they know they aint gonna disappear for 2 years - with the network and with NXT becoming more popular - Developmental stage in WWE will no longer be a issue - how many times did we hear a young punk, bryan - aj etc - were hesitant to the idea of spending so long in development! NXT and its popularity sorts this

because of the short format of the show and high number of 'Stars' - NXT has to be careful with its planning so as people dont get forgotten - a la half the main roster in wwe!!

    Adam Cole?

And top indie dudes wrestling on NXT is a draw for the product. Hardcore fans make up the majority of the NXT viewers so it's good business to snap them up and have these "dream matches".

That's one and that's been pretty public but some others aren't. I don't want to be an unnecessary tease or play any guessing games. I'll just there will be a leftfield signing in the next 30 days or so and leave it at that.

Jeff Jarrett is joining NXT? Omg!

The non aesthetically pleasing briscoes would be awesome signings!

And Rovert Do they have any guys in developmental who they were high on that has the looks of a cena or who thy believe can carry the company ala cena, rock etc? The new kliq indie guys don't have that look I believe Vince would go for! I know they were high on Mojo but are there any guys who go under the rader that I may not be aware off?

I must say I always enjoy reading Roverts posts in regards to NXT developmental always Indepth and informative ... Turns the NXT thread into probably the most enjoyable thread on boards for me so thanks Rovert!

Who owns the rights to the Bullet Club name? It would be cool if there was a WWE version, a bit like the way there was an NWO in Japan at one stage as well. Probably not possible.
