Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I stumbled onto this guy's YouTube channel the other day and I find him highly entertaining and, generally, on the ball. He calls himself an asshole consultant:

    Enjoy!

And his angle is nigh on entirely from an American perspective. That for me is the major problem with so much of this kinda thing on the interwebs, it's rooted and solidly so in one culture. A culture with lesser social support compared to Ireland(and the EU), big personal debt, especially in education and health, never mind anything else. EG the biggest reason for personal bankruptcy in the US of A is for medical bills. Something that for the vast majority of Irish men and women isn't even on the radar. As one of the many Breaking Bad memes go

This engenders, or tends to engender a very different gender* dynamic in its people, so I would be very careful in applying such insights or solutions outside of that culture.

*yep I overused the word gender. I'm running outa alternatives. It's late, I'm old and I've had three glasses of vino.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

True he has a very American perspective, but if you ignore the libertarian posts and refocus the emphasis on student debt to debt in general, he speaks a lot of truth that applies to any western male. His videos on "death of the nightclub", worthless degrees, and career advice are excellent.
