Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is novel, playing Henderson and Gerrard in their best positions.

    Amazing.

    It's weird, isn't it.

so unlucky... would have been a contender for goal of the season.

    Jordans less so...

great to see Lazer playing with some confidence.

    Moronic from Coutinho

Just trying to slow their attack down so that we don't concede before halftime in his mind I guess.

    Has to be careful now

    What a shot from Hendo!

Indeed, hendo doing good today, he directing the defence where to pass the ball when they playing it out, showing leadership.

As a CM in this system with the wing backs & attackers he won't be getting MOM awards but will do his job effeciently.

Liverpool might regret not being at least 2 up by now. Surely Sunderland will get a chance eventually and will probably take it.

Henderson is shocking. Get him off.

Really don't like those posts. Subbing a player after 30 mins because of a bad shot. Stupid.

This is the most in control we've been in a match all season nearly.

Nailed on to concede before half time then.

Ah the shot was too soft

Is Vergini always this bad? I'd be targeting him every time, looks absolutely terrible. No composure, no awareness... nothing.

Gonna regret not scoring some more

This defeat will be particularly hard to stomach

    This is ****ing pathetic.

Cattermole is such a massive loss but we look completely hopeless. Giaccherini and van Aanholt are getting done every single time down our left hand side, Wickham is so isolated and we can't keep the ball for more than 3 passes unless we're going backwards.

I bet studge would thrive in this game. Lots of balls in positions that he'd love

    Borini playing well

No offence to yourself Trilla at all, but when a Man U fan tells a Liverpool fan to calm down about Jordan Henderson, that says it all.

Henderson is quality and a deserved future captain.

Liverpool need a 2nd while they are so on top because they will eventually gift Sunderland a gilt edged goal chance.

Liverpool in total control, really should get a 2nd before half time.

Final result if not will be 1-1.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭SM01

great to see them pressing high and controlling the game. Hopefully won't rue missing quite a few chances. Also the criticism of Henderson is unwarranted, he's playing well so far.

Monkey, I'm a football fan... I love Manchester United, but I love football more. No offense taken.

Henderson hasn't been amazing this season, he's been very good though in most of the games a I saw.

    Borini playing well

    You jinxed him.

Bad miss after rounding the keeper well.

I have to ask, why are Sunderland playing like this? Do they have scouts? Do they think this is last season?

This truly is pathetic from Sunderland. Just go at that Liverpool defence. Get the crowd going. What actually are they doing?

Should be 3 or 4 up by now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,949 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

This is a massive downfall of ours currently, wasting great opportunities. 7 or 8 attempts this half, many of them great chances, and only one goal.

They caused us problems at Anfield and were probably the better team.

Eh so wasteful should be 3 or 4 up. Hope we don't regret it otherwise an excellent first half.

Should be 10 up...poor first half.

Take a bow Lazar Markovic, wow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Sunderland are so slow on the ball. I have never seen a team get dispossessed so much as Sunderland. Game should be over which worries me.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 4,006 ✭✭✭donfers

Borini isn't playing well unless you think running around a lot constitutes a good performance - can't hold the ball up, dispossessed regularly, can't pick a through ball....can't believe we were offered 14 million for him

    Markovic and Coutinho good

but same old story of failing to take some good opportunities and a pretty blatant penalty turned down mean there is still work to be done here to secure 3 points

    Someone cancel Sterling's return flight

    Borini playing well

very unsurprising to see Liverpool benefit from an enthusiastic mobile striker with an in-form Coutinho feeding him. Perhaps would be better had he not to prove himself to the manager every time he plays and didn't have to burn off excess energy by fouling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,882 ✭✭✭✭klose

Probably should be a couple of goals to the good, hopefully won't rue those missed chances but wouldn't be too confident of that. Good first half all the same, new signings settling in nicely.

That goal, of the keepers balls and in
