Spieth is an incredibly boring player to watch. The grass grows quicker than he actually plays.

He's trying to make the round last forever so he doesn't have to hand over the jacket.

He's slow, which is annoying but his shot execution is generally superb

Personally I wish there were more black muslim gay females on the forum.

But you have to work with what you've got I suppose.

I was referring to zzippy holidaying in NZ and no doubt paying a visit to any number of NZ's bird sanctuaries, of which the shag is a prevalent species.

Of course, someone always has to lower the tone of the thread with not too subtle sexual innuendo.

How zzippy and the now Mrs zzippy spent their horizontal moments in NZ does not concern me.

And (being serious) did you hear the Moreporks?

I miss that sound which always makes me think of camping out in the NZ wild.

Don't think they have much public support at all. First with their ridiculous 50%+ initial claim then rejecting a generous offer of up to 18%. They're being completely unreasonable and imo we can't let a group of workers hold the capital to ransom. I'm at the stage where I think they should all be sacked and replaced with people who want to work. They'll have nobody to blame but themselves

There's an AWFUL lot of mis-information going on about this in the media. Don't have it to hand, but if you do a bit of googling there's a breakdown of what they're actually looking for. While I was initially pretty skeptical of their requests, I reeled that in after doing a bit of research.

Transdev are going to regret putting staff on protective notice.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,184 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Their requests are insane. If they get it then Luas price hikes will follow.

I don't think I've ever seen a strike with so little public support, they are literally holding the Dublin commuters to ransom.

SIPTU need their wings clipped too. I reckon they thought Transdev wouldn't have the balls for the fight and have been giving bad advice to the drivers. Doubt they predicted how little support they'd be able to drum up either.

There are ulterior motives at play here and SIPTU keep running to the government to sort it out which is kind of like the school bully running to the teacher when the person they have been bullying hits them back.

I have this great idea. We can do a "Lockout". And then maybe some chancer can write a good poem about it afterwards.

"Was it for this the wild geese spread
    The grey wing upon every tide;
For this that all that blood was shed,
    For this Edward Fitzgerald died,
And Robert Emmet and Wolfe Tone,
All that delirium of the brave?
    Romantic Ireland's dead and gone,
It's with O'Leary in the grave."

I do yeah, mostly in very longform prose in threads in response to emmet's posts, it's more akin to an art installation mind you.

If you could be so kind as to direct us that would be superb. I've been following it for quite some time, and what I have seen ties very very closely to what the media has portrayed.

I'd be extremely interested in seeing the 'real info' that might be available elsewhere.

This was illuminating for me - http://transdevireland.ie/assets/files/Claim%20For%20Transdev%20Employees-%202.pdf

I posted it previously, broken into what that kind of claim actually amounts to per employee at each level - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=99009602&postcount=520

I believe that the presence of a third-party independent accessor of the claim costs is worth noting too...
The cost of the Unions claims have been verified independently by Mazars

    Emmet and ibf,
    Sitting in a tree,
    k-i-s-s-i-n-g,
emmet said to ibf will you mate with me,
    ibf says yes certainly.

I am also a poet it seems.

I'd actually describe it as a whole other genre. Have you considered applying for a grant, or artist's tax exemption?

Is this an intentional butchery of a childhood classic or is this actually how kids north of the wall say it?

I'd agree that there's a huge amount of sensationalism and misinformation around the numbers. The incremental approach is very different to how it's being reported with the ridiculous numbers or 40% etc. being thrown out. I think a number of people believe it's a blanket increase.

However, the increases are still bullsh*t. They are unrealistic and out of touch. I'm not just referring to the salary demands but the additional benefits. A full, free GP service? €100 is a driver has to transfer a tram between Red Cow and Sandyford depots plus 1 hour in lieu? 10% pension contributions? Potential 10% bonus of basic salaries?

Whatever about the details, whoever is doing the PR for the Luas workers should be shot. I'd say less than 5% of the public has any sympathy for them.
