If you have a valid license you should be able to contact nikon and get replacement install cds for some nominal price. I don't know how nikon licenses/validates these things though.

-edit- Actually, easier still, https://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18818/~/capture-nx-2.4.6 So long as you still have your product key it looks as though you're good to go.

Fancy box and key got thrown out by mistake, i am so stupid.
€200 seems very expensive but that's life.

Thank you both for the help / advice

that's the same price as 16 months worth of photoshop and lightroom, so that might be a worthwhile alternative?

    Again thanks

1st point – I don’t like or wish to have to do with the concept of renting software. I purchased Adobe Photoshop cs6 and although it cost a packet it’s great. I expect programs to last for the life of my computer (hopefully about 5 years plus). Once loaded and working I leave them alone – just use them, I can see the need for patches/ upgrades but have also seen them scramble programs.

2nd point – I have tried the new capture NX and did not like it. I did not get on with Adobe Lightroom ether. – so much time can be wasted relearning when all I want to do was follow my tried and tested processing work flows.

I suppose I am a Luddite my children say so, I liked Win XP 32 bit etc. now thanks my pc dying with the help of the boards computer thread I have built a 64 bit win 7 PC and am having to replace all sorts of software (and a working scanner).

    Grumble bitch moan
    sorry

Thank you again people. Boards is great

I will try again with the new capture NX thank you for the link Anthony 4335.
