Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Bit of advice please folks

My old Mac mini (snow leopard) failed recently and I replaced it with a new one.
I used the old one as a media centre on my tv, I watched my content through plex (this version http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w259/stevegeraghty/A20FFA22-B113-459E-98EB-C95A0A053A53.png) and I really liked it, it updated the content when it was launched, pulled all the artwork and told me what I've watched and not watched.

I downloaded the new version and tbh I'm not pushed on it, mainly because it's through the browser and not a stand alone program.
I tried xbmc and it's getting closer to what I'm after but not quite there yet.

I'd love to know what other people use/recomend

I can't tell from the screenshot, but it looks like you were running a very old version of Plex. A number of years ago, the team split the program into server and client versions. This means that one "master" Plex media server can stream content to many available clients: desktops/laptops (e.g. Mac mini)
    Mobile devices (e.g. Android/iOS phone)
    Dedicated streamers (e.g. Roku)
Smart TVs (any that support the client or DLNA)

It's all laid out here: https://plex.tv/features

In your case, it sounds like you've just downloaded the Plex Media Server, but haven't grabbed a client. AFAIK the client for desktop computers is now called Plex Home Theatre. Installation instructions can be found on https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/sections/200282037-Plex-Home-Theater

    Hope that's of use!

BTW the server and client can happily live on the same machine (i.e your Mac mini)
