Raw EURO4 data gives west coast of Mayo and Galway gusts >90 knots.

When are high tides on the West coast?

Midnight iirc, exactly when the 2nd punch comes for the coast

Latest model guidance would suggest a Red Alert must be issued if Met are going to stick by their warning guidelines

Midnight in Galway anyway, but they're neap tides so a lot smaller than they could be. Hopefully this will minimise any possible coastal flooding.

For reference, tonights HT in Galway is ~3.9m, spring highs can be 5.6m

Have to pick up the father in law from Dublin Airport at 4.30, I doubt the motorways will be too bad will they? Ill be allowing extra time for traffic but not expecting much weather along the way really or dodgy conditions, am I right or wrong?

Ill be travelling from Waterford by the way

Ah kind man But the internet connection is upstairs only and if the power goes..will do my best. Family overseas have an emergency phone number locally and know it may go quiet and will use it. They did this last year when the St Stephens Night storm moved the dish but it was fine the next time.. must have used stronger elastic ;)

Most motorways are very open so it'll be windy
