Don't think it has hit the city yet.

    It has cleared Limerick city

Looking at the rainfall radar, the squall line broke up a fair bit before hitting Limerick City.

Didn't sound like a proper squall from here in Castletroy anyway, just a nice rain shower..

Windy in Limerick now regardless, strong gusts with the occasional bigger one.

It's a bit breezey in Galway city now. Might go for a walk on the prom in a few hours!

Biggest gust of the evening so far, and that uprooted a small tree I had planted in the garden. Painful......
I dread the next 12 hours.

If anything the squall line looks like it is gaining shape in the last few frames

Remember to charge anything that needs charging in case the electricity goes, as in your phone, tablets, laptop etc.
If lekky goes they won't be much use anyways :) (Except maybe the mobile )

Very heavy rain in Athlone now and the wind is starting to howl.

The centre of the depression is a lot further south than the GFS had forecast, and at 947mB it's a bit more powerful. There is going to be a lot of fallen trees and power lines across the country.

Sorry for going off topic but is it safe to lite an open fire in this weather?
Deffo safe. Light it and keep warm. You'll need it if the lekky goes out.
Unless it's outdoors cause you'll catch ur death of cold :)

Holy god! MASSIVE squall just hit back of house there! Thought it was hailstones but just rain. Animals looking well shifty. Even dog who normally escapes out front door when opened just stood there looking at me when I looked out for a gawk.
