Something is killing my Peace Lily....

I have the Peace Lily for years. It's in the same location for years and over the space of a few days it has just flopped over.
I've split it and re potted it in an attempt to salvage something.
I'm currently cutting away dead/dying leaves in the hope that some new shoots might make it through.
But as the foliage is being thinned out I've found something on the leaves in the centre of the plant. This 'something' is not moving, so I don't think it's mites/insects, etc. It's yellow in colour.
Any ideas from this pic attached?

I think you will find that 'was' aphids before they fled to pastures new, having done their damage. Have a look at the roots, if they are still lively (white rather than brown/blackish) then cut off the dodgy bits, maybe spray it with aphid spray and see what happens.

Difficult to say from the photo but I think it could be spider mites. I found this web page interesting.
