Thanks, everybody. I was hoping to get this updated today, but it's not going to happen before bedtime. D-Day tomorrow, and all that needs to be said is for 2½ years I've given this goal plenty of time and committment, and suffice to say that I am confident of doing well.

Wishing you a super race. Your commitment to your training will power you on.

For a non wetsuit 3.8k?!? Chapeau! What a way to start the "weak" leg.

Wetsuits were allowed in the end. They pbviously found a nice cold.spot to test. Pros went without it seems. water was 24.4! That would be a horrible warm swim in suit!

That makes more sense of the time so. Horrible to be in a suit in that soup! Having said that it will suit the skinnier guys like zico.

Off the bike in 11th place I think. Plenty of work left yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,101 ✭✭✭Bambaata

He ran from 19th to 7th last year and is within a minute of about 3 or 4 of those ahead off the bike. Should be well capable of running through a few more too.

i would think the work is already done he is in 7th already its more like can he hold it.
if anybody is out there tell him not to take risks and make sure he has enough in the tank for last 7 k.

    Brilliant Alan. Fair play lad

    Job done.

This is the most emotionally invested I've felt in someone else's sporting achievement in a long time. It's like when Robbie Keane scored against the Germans.

    Congrats zico well deserved.

Savage nothing less than deserved. Sub 3 run too. Nice
The beer will taste sweet tonight

I'm delighted for a man I've never met but feel like I know from following this log. It's great to see hard work paying off in the end and this log gives a real insight into what's required to get to Kona. Congrats and enjoy some well deserved celebrations.
