Hi,
Myself and 2 others are going to hawaii this summer on a j1. We are going to honolulu to be exact. I know its early yet but were having trouble trying to find accommodation there for the 3 months,any places we have been in contact with said their minimum leases are at least 6 months and any other places are charging by the day which is not suitable.
id be hugely grateful if anyone could help me or at least point me in the right direction.

Have you looked at any of the other islands? Hawaii as a state is extremely expensive, The bigger the island, the bigger the expenses. The other thing is that you are technically going in low season which means that the type of tourist you get is usually family's/retirees etc.
Hawaii is a bit mad tourist season wise as people go when the weather is worse elsewhere (nov-mar) meaning that the islands are pretty quiet in the dry season - which means work could be harder to come by

One other tip...stock up on sunscreen in Ireland...it's really expensive over there.
