Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A conversation with opps, I think. Something along the lines of, "Two minor snags. One, we need soap and two, please change the Christmas music." " You're no longer in the Christmas spirit?" "No. All Christmassed out. Bah humbug!"

Did FR9895 just go around again? ORK?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,235 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Second go around at cork, Fr9895.

Diversion at this stage or another attempt?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Calina

Could you imagine having to get on a coach now from Shannon to Cork on a night like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,235 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

We must watch the one going into cork soon. Will it be successful? What runway will it use?

Don't envy the coach trip from SNN. I'm told it's not great down around half way between the two airports.

Anyone else have issues with liveatc falling over? I shall shortly have to start listening to music.

I cant imagine leaving my house with the wind atm.

With the wind expected to be alot worse at 8am tomorrow, I think it will be a day off :P

What I will be wondering, is whether the T/A flights into Shannon and Dublin will land in the morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,235 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

I just realised I have listened to the exact same Recording of Dublin 3 times, I was wondering where these bloody planes were!

I will be landing, (hopefully! Ha) on EI277 in the next couple of hours. Anyone care to offer thoughts on what the weather will be like for the landing? Will I need to pack a sickness bag?

    Many thanks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Calina

Is that Stobart just going straight to SNN? Seem to be taking the long way around to ORK.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,262 ✭✭✭Fabio

Looks like it's going to try ORK anyway...

if feeling sick look straight at the front of the cabin, try to visually establish a horizon and keep an eye on it. It will ease the sickness, but yeah, I would keep a bag handy. Don't do booze, especially the kind that makes you wanna pee a lot, as use of toilets will probably be out of question

Acting up. Look now and an aircraft doesn't just do an 160 degree turn in a second.

My god, that stobart is flying at 70knots!

70 knots ground speed, it's indicated airspeed is what matters. :)

that's ground speed.. Air speed is your 70kt + some 50kt wind = 120 kt

I once saw Emirates 777 doing 100kt, beat that!

FR24 acting up again. Apparently its doing 1475ft over the runway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 482 ✭✭bronn

Landed. Fair play to him! Good grief.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,235 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

I know why a stobart can fly at 70 knots, Im just saying how slow that is.
You could follow it with your car!

What speed does an ATR have to do for it to stall?

Just to point out IAS is different to TAS. No danger with EI3707. Although I'd imagine the controls were very responsive. ;)

Growler is your man to answer that question correctly! For the ATR 72-500 its 102kts clean and 84kts dirty ( open to correction)

Love the thread and all those on it. Yeah.

Does anyone know if. I need to slap the headphones on, listen to ATC, watch FR24, AND keep up with the thread tonight for Dublin Airport?

    The wind and all!
