Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bead Insulation for Single Room

    Hi,

I did a retrofit on my house 2 years ago with insulated boards. However there was an upstairs back toilet that we did not insulate due the size and also the expense of it at the time.

However now I need to insulate it. It is on a small extension with approx 8ft of wall (16 ft in total) on 2 sides that are not insulated. However the floor below this is insulated and the attic above it is insulated.

I was going to bead insulate this section of wall rather than rip out the bathroom and insulate it. Any thoughts on this and is bead insulation the way to go? The house is from the 60`s with cavity block construction. Any beads better than the other etc?

    Thanks

If what you mean by "bead insulate" is to pump bonded bead into the cavities, don't bother. It will have no insulating effect.

Some say the Rosary make gives good insulation from the hobs of Hell.

Back to your question, as noted earlier, complete waste of effort with cavity block.

Put a good extractor fan in it for getting rid of water vapour after showers etc and put a good elec wall mounted fan heater for heating it up rapido and just keep it about 14 degrees C otherwise
