When you are camping in an area with no firewood, what do you use?

Some time back, I brought a 300 lumen LED lamp with me. It was great for providing light to set up a stove and cook food but its bright light was too harsh to relax. I just switched it off in the end.

Last time I was out, it was a case of candles in jars. Not very fancy but a lot nicer than LED lights.

I find these clip jars good because I'd lose the lids otherwise. What does anyone else use?

If you had lots of water to spare and didn't mind lugging around an empty milk jug, this would be a cheap substitute.
