Might have. The main article is more expansive than that overview summary though.

Yep saw that, but as that is about how our laws are SUPPOSED to work I though how our fellow EU members (and rest of world) was an interesting comparrison.

    Good stuff though!

First reference/source is half way down the page.... kinda hard to trust it.

The first reference is at the start of the first non-overview section (I think you're mixing up references/sources with http links):
    Licencing requirements
The requirements the applicant must meet are set forth in section 4 of the Firearms Act

It's just that you can't give a http link to most of the firearms acts because they're such a mess (how do you link to section 4 of the 25 act as amended by (IIRC) four other acts?).

Im not a scholary sort, so maybe Im mixing this up but do you not put a small number beside each statement and then at the bottom of the page you can see... for example... the statement with number 6 = please refer to section 4 of the 25 act as amended by four other acts.

Well actually Sparks, perhaps you could answer me because I know you have a very good knowledge on this stuff. The reason I said I didnt trust it and that it needs sources is because anyone could be adding stuff into it. I mean the amount of stories I have heard about simple things where people cant even understand the basics of restricted and non restricted and I dont mean just regular joe soaps. I mean people that really should know better. How do you know one of these people didnt go and add in their own little twist in that page. So getting to my question, how accurate would you say that page is?

You could - but it would be less clear, wouldn't convey any additional information, and all you'd be doing it for is to look more scholarly.

Well, I wrote it, so I'm biased :P

Incidentally, if you needed a non-wikipedia reference on the law, gunny558 pointed out a while ago that there's a new book on it out. Got it for myself over xmas and I can't find any errors in it that aren't down to things changing since its publication (like the district court costs issue):

    http://www.bookdepository.com/Law-Firearms-Offensive-Weapons-Martin-Odonnell/9781905536542

It's a bit pricey at almost 75 euro, but that's law textbooks for you, and as far as I know this is the only one out there on the Firearms Act, ever.

No, wikipedia doesn't work like that. But you can subscribe to pages and monitor them for changes and revert any that are daft (though you do have to say why, it's not like you own the page).
