Anyone signed up for this this year? I hear it's a bit congested initially with a long dull out and back in the second half. I've decided to do it as the timing is good for me, good flight options time and price wise and it's meant to be quite flat.

I stayed here with work a few weeks ago and found it extremely good value for a very nice hotel in a fairly convenient location. Breakfast was excellent and it has a really nice rooftop bar/restaurant area with amazing views across the city. It's a bit further out than some but trams leave from just outside and will have you in the city centre in about 15 mins. It's also got a great park right on the doorstep which is perfect for running. They also offer a free shuttle to/from the airport.

Only looking for somewhere to be near the marathon start/finish. 170 Euro a night is too much for me.

Ah right. It was closer to the hundred the weekend I was there. I'd imagine the marathon weekend sees a a hike in prices across the board.

I am thinking Airb and B thingy or one night in the hotel. Was thinking of getting the early morning flight into amsterdam. Will see if I can get the pass at home.

I stayed in a great little hotel in 2013, I'll have a look back and see what it was called ROM. The stairs http://www.amphkingwest.com/2013/10/dam-buster-part-1.html ain't too bad ;)

Please do. I don't mind stairs post marathon. Somewhere near the start/finish would be great as I am only going for the race and will fly back on the Sunday.

    Nice report Viper. Enjoyed it!
I'm going all out for this one...sub 2.45 minimum.
Re the start....would getting to the start earlier ease the congestion problems or is that going to be an issue whatever you do?

It was Hotel Clemens we stayed in http://clemenshotel-px.rtrk.nl/en/ I can't remember the cost as my mate booked it but seemed reasonable enough.

Ya, think I'll just get a taxi in the morning so!

I stayed here last year. http://www.hotelnicolaaswitsen.nl/index.php?lang=en It has a lift albeit a small one!

2min walk from major tram intersection so you can get anywhere easily. Walking distance to many attractions also.

I'd no issues with the trams. Think we got a taxi back up alright.
