    wheres Daddy(s)?

God, if only Ray would ask that? Do you think it would ever cross his mind?

I am guessing there might be more than one daddy in this story?

Tell me, are you listening to this young girl?

Do you think an economy can continue to support people like this? The welfare bill is crippling Western countries, including ours. It is only set to rise in the future as more and more people couldn't care about work, claim they are depressed and can't go to work, are lame, and all need free money and a free house.

All these increasing numbers have the same education system that most of us go through. Most of us try to better ourselves, learn, get work etc. But we have a large underbelly of society who have never worked, get everything for free, and are now churning out the next generation who will follow exactly in their parents footsteps.

People have to take personal responsibility for themselves sometimes in their life. Of course we should try to look after the most vunerable, but when you have big strong men who never worked, even during the boom times, then you realise that there is a large number of wasters who are nothing but a drain on us all.

With these people its all take, take, take. No contribution at all.

You could give them a million Euro and they would piss it away in 2 or 3 years.

Sometimes it gets hard listening to the sense of entitlement in this country ALL THE TIME.

Most of us have to work hard, sacrifice and suffer tough times to get our own jobs and houses. Then get crippled in tax to pay for those who get everything for free.

And then we have a priest, a worker for one of the richest organisations in the world, pontificate about Gov and taxpayers not looking after people. Isn't the Church meant to be Christian and look after its fellow man? Not a chance of that.

Fr Peter McVerry's comments about Government policy on homelessness, were a lot fairer to the government, than you are suggesting. He said there has been a number of different policies on homelessness since 2007, but that each government did not get the opportunity to implement fully, the plans envisaged.

He said that Housing Minister Simon Coveney is well meaning and sincere, about his intentions to lessen homelessness, but that Simon Coveney is not getting the support, on particular issues relating to housing provision, from Minister Michael Noonan and the Department of Finance. Fr Peter McVerry said that he fears that this government will not last long enough to fully implement its plans to lessen homelessness.

He didn't criticise the government, just for the sake of it, as you have implied.

I am sympathetic to those who suffer, but often many do nothing to help themselves.

This is a one-sided radio show....no-one to come on and say what the authorities are doing, which is spending vast sums on homelessness. You can want to belive that or not, but its true.

Ray,and Joe Duffy as well, rarely ask a question that might actually expose some of the truth.

Edit: this young girl has 4 children under 5 !!Sweet Jesus, she is just a drain on the state, can she not stop having kids? Continuing to bring young children into your life when your life is destined to be rubbish is child abuse. Why is she doing it? Call me cynical but Ray won't ask her this, and maybe she was doing it to make sure she would get a house guaranteed or else not have to work ever in her life.

I am sorry if that sounds cruel, but this kind of person annoys me.

No, its not cruel, its fact. And at the end Ray reads a few texts 'my heart is breaking' ' these poor people' etc etc. Now I am sure I was not the only one who texted in to ask why these people dont get off their ass and take responsibility. But in this one sided pathetic radio show no texts like this are ever read.

Personally I think these people get away with murder. If they were told to get a grip and improve their own situation, they might actually do it.

The wan with the 4 kids, only 1 of whom lives with her. Complete waste of resources. We are paying for her, for her kids in care, you can bet shes getting every handout in the system.

Im really, really at the end of my rope. That ad with Sr Stan, 'when i came out of hospital 'they' gave us this room' THEY is me and all the other taxpayers who get up every morning and go out and earn enough to keep themselves plus other people who feck around having sex at will and bringing kids into the world that they cannot afford.

Sick to the teeth of it folks. And sick of do gooders whinging on their behalf.

This is it! Why can't those texts like the one above be read out? Why can't these 'tough' questions be asked which I happen to think aren't tough at all.
How did things get to this point that nobody in the national media is willing to stand up? Is it fear of being absolutely pilloried by the liberals or is there a bigger agenda at play?
I would love to see the percentage of texts that came that savaged that contributor. I'd bet my week's hard earned wages that it was well over half. Does that silent majority not matter?

The media in europe and ireland are too pc. Too afraid of upsetting people and calling a spade a spade. the media go light on the government, dont tackle issues that affect upset people personally. Just look at the media today over germany, afraid to upset the muslims/refugees/liberals. Plus darcys a pussy afraid to high heaven of upsetting anyone or getting confrontational, just like joe duffy (unless hes trying to destroy a small business)

People are sick of all this politically correct nonsense.. Joe Duffy and Ray D'arcy, men who pull an absolute fortune out of the public purse for a few hours a week, and them empathizing with de poor people who are homeless. Honestly it's like listening to Peter Sutherland appealing to the Irish people's "better nature" on behalf of the refugees. And these are the same people who do everything to make sure they avoid paying their fair share of tax... artists exemption for the book, eh, socialist Joe?

And do you ever notice how D'Arcy conditions his questions when he doesn't want to risk being unpopular. That young girl with the four kids... no job, no prospect of a job.. She knew she had no means of providing for the first kid, yet still she had three more... Is this the fault of the State again? Would Ray ask her this question? Of course not. And the irony is, if that was a working woman who had four kids he would be his usual pass remarkable/judgmental self .. "Are you not taking on a lot for yourself", "a-a-and and.. is it hard balancing work with all those kids *sigh* "....

D'Arcy should know how difficult it is raising kids, didn't his own missus leave work to look after their mere two children.... before, of course, showing up at the gates of RTE six months later.

I understand the anger on the thread and normally I would be in complete agreement but I would like to say one thing in defence of the lady (24) with four children.

She grew up in care, she was in the care of the HSE when she became pregnant at 17 with her first child. It is extremely unlikely the girl received a proper education and without the guidance of a family or a decent support network, it's not surprising she has made and continues to make poor life decisions.

I think it's morally wrong to bring children into the world that you know you can't support or even share a roof with but I believe this lady was failed as a child (by her parent(s) and the HSE) and unfortunately, now history is set to repeat itself with her children.
