She comes across as a bit of a character alright.

When Prince died she signed off with "There will be no rain tonight, purple or otherwise."

Not a clue, part of D'arcy's set I would guess.

I would wish them well though, seem to have gone through a lot.

    Good luck to them

Had to turn the radio off after about 3 minutes because I couldn't stand them laughing at themselves

Bit annoying in fairness, but I cut them a lot of slack as they went through a lot.

    Best wishes to them.

Ray D'arcy is one of this country's greatest broadcasters.

Ah Ray, will you climb down off that old soap box. Just gets tedious after a while. People have been lecturing us about alcohol since Fr.Matthew.............

Yeah. All the alcoholics and drink drivers are going to stop after Ray's sermon.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,426 ✭✭✭goochy

Ray brushes his teeth before going on air , don't bother - spend more time on your research and finding somewhere to put your blinkered views before going on air.

feel sorry for that man but not everyone goes out of control with drink - self control comes into play.

Absolutely. Being friends with an alcoholic, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that listening to a long radio monologue about the demon drink, is more likely to cause someone to reach for a bottle of alcohol, than to pour it down the sink.

i'm sure RD means well but these monologues aren't going to fix anyone's drinking habits, least of all those with serious dependence.

Reginald D Hunter interview.. I just caught the last five minutes of that and it was like desperate, awkward and uncomfortable and that was just Darcy.

Has Ray changed his false laugh?
He was a lot more "HEE HEE HEE HEE!" than "HA HA HA HA!" today.

Be it HEE or HA, it's very irritating hearing it in every interview. Like the previous poster I got the last 5 mins and he was doing it even when the guest was saying non-funny things.

Ray and his son switched the lights off to scare the older sister , say its the most excitement Ray has had in a long time

No, you're wrong. He had a bottle of 5% beer at the weekend.

Looking at the latest JNLR figures, Ray has shed 25k listeners. I wonder are people starting to tire of his shtick?

Why does Baz feel the need to start the show, for the second day in a row, with an anecdote about his kids? Is this an integral part of the Ray D'arcy Show, to bore the nation with your kid stories?

Otherwise I like Baz. He should just do his own thing. Looking at Ray's JNLRs, I'm not sure that copying his broadcasting style is advisable.

At least Baz gets the buttons right, I guess.
