    Hi,
I have a question in relation to the gift tax & hoping someone can help with it. I have received gifts from my parents who live abroad-35k around Jun 2014 for my house purchase.

Do I have to file a CAT return for this gift? It is within the group A limit for CAT tax and not reaching 80% of the threshold. Do I still need to file this with revenue office? If it is required, will I be charged for any interest /surcharge since I didn't file it on time?

    Thanks a mill.

    Regards,
    Kathy
