1. (a)
Show the total time taken for a train with constant acceleration and deceleration (and no constant speed) is equal to

√2d (≝1/f1 + 1/f2)
with square root covering all of it.

f1 = acceleration
f2 = deceleration
d = distance

A particle, P, starts from rest at a point A and moves with constant acceleration 'f' in a straight line. At time T, after P starts from A, a second particle, Q, starts from A and moves in the same direction along the same straight line as P.

Q moves with a constant speed of u.

(i) Prove that Q will overtake P if u > 2fT.
(ii) Assuming Q does not overtake P, i.e. that u > 2ft, express in terms of u, f and T the length of time for which Q is ahead of P.

Q6- Aural on an operatta, same operetta played twice and you must answer questions and contrast.. know Un Bal by berlioz for this(asks you similarities and differences of intro in the operatta with Un ball.. one similarity is they're both waltzes, another is use of orchestral instruments)


it's a really nice paper, not hard at all.. Pm me for any more info I might be able to give some more specifics

I've heard there's 3 papers for HL maths this year, one is normal and two are particularly hard. Not sure which is which but

prove root 2 is irrational is on the normal one

so if yours didn't have that and seemed hard it could be the new paper that's possibly a different source to either debs or exam craft??

also the Q1 on my paper seems to be different?

Q. 1. a). Statement about drugs, that they are a "fleau" (scourge) on our society - give your reaction.
b). Write about two weeks you spent in France

Q.2. a). Journal about your first 2 weeks working in France, everyone is very happy with you except your boss
b). A letter to a college, (I didn't do this one)

Q.3. a). Statement along the lines of - social networks are everywhere, do you really need 200/500/5000 friends, friendship is more than just a face on a screen - followed by the question "What do you think of social networks?"
b). Unemployment and emigration in Ireland, what effect it has, one in every 5 young people emigrate

Q.4. a). This was about animals, I didn't really understand it
b). Just a slogan "Contre le Racisme" (Against Racism)

Also they ask for you to pick out an adverb and a verbe pronominaux in the 2 comprehensions

our teacher told us that one of the essays in section I would be on Iron Age metal work. The two objects being discussed would be Broighter Collar and the Bronze Trumpet. She also told the ÓL class the focus on new grange

2-specific latent heat of fusion of ice.
3-relationship between frequency and tension and relationship between frequency and length of a string.
4-resistance and length of nichrome wire.

long questions:
5- know how to calculate recoil of a gun, know laws of equilibrium, know what self induction is, know composition of a proton and anti neutron, know how to calculate current given work done+efficiency+resistance and time., know applications of photoelectric effect. Thats all i remember from q5.
6-know Archimedes principle and law of flotation, know how to calculate pressure and force on a cube. know if a cube of a certain mass will think or float in water.
I dont remember the order after that but know the following:
What are x-rays and how to calculate kinetic energy.
why are x-rays more useful when looking at cracks in pipes than gamma rays. Be able to draw x-ray diagram. energy conversion in an x-ray tube. why do x-rays tubes require more voltage than cathode ray tubes
how do u speed up protons in a particle accelerator, know how to calculate mass of products formed when two protons are sped up and collide. know about Rutherford's experiment and how to calculate the mass of radium he used and how many not decayed atoms remain. know about lenses and laser surgery and how it improves eye. calculation involving power of the eye, ray diagram for lenses.

sorry guys that all i could remember they took the question paper from us in school.

I can confirm that the English Higher Level DEB exam was the one with

a question on Iago as a fascinating, complex charactr; theme and issue and literary genre appeared (how the techniques enhance the appeal of the texts basically), poets were Donne, E.NÍ C, Frost, and Montague (theme and language question based on his openness and honesty in his poetry and his intimate, personal and sometimes painful memories)....Paper one had a comprehension on Emma Watson's HeForShe speech (write an article for your school magazine outlining the effects gender inequality has on young people), another comprehension was on a writer's father who was imprisoned at railway work camp..

Thats true, the first question on the math p1 (DEB) i did was about

geometric sequences,
and the last question in the test was about financial math amortisation.
