Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No idea but he didn't sound from Dublin.

Well that's a good point. Many businesses in this country are viable and as Simon Harris said this will pass and it's a case of just keeping things in suspended animation so to speak.

Tonight's episode is a bit like a visual version of Liveline.

Fair play to the presenter...this kind of call-in format can be a bit of a sh1tshow.

Was that worst case scenario question an ambush? Or a good idea even

Edit: the realistic timeline question is good

I always prefer to hear the worse case scenario, I like a no bullsh!t doctor. 6 months down the line of this would be a conservative estimate.

It's probably a reasonable question but a bit unfair.

Good point about the case appearing now are from before last Friday.

The doc definitely smirked when Claire said she wanted to explore self isolation with him.

Fair enough, he answered it well too and ya that was a good point re the pre friday stuff, I've been at home since sat now so good to know for my own head that 5 - 7 day thing, getting paranoid about every little thing at times!

Surely someone with the symptoms of the common cold are not likely cases of CV19? Is it not more flu like?

It's only a matter of time before RTE announce a moratorium on the licence fee

    Worst case scenario?

    What a stupid question.

Worst case scenario is 6-7 million fatalities on the island!!!

What she expect him to say? Worst case would be 10 people and a cocker spaniel dead!

That's probably why Dr Holohan was talking about the next seven days are crucial.

I got locked in a sauna once, thankfully a few hours later I'd sweated out all the alcohol:pac:

    That doctor was some gob****e.

He was shocking. Looks like he’s only recently graduated/in training but absolutely brimming with his own sense of self importance. He’d be much better served staying where he is rather than risk travelling home. Trying to coerce the Minister into honouring some contract thing was beyond shameless- far more important things to be dealing with than this self absorbed drama queen

eh, the most stringent advice says people with any type of significant cold should self-isolate. Some people's symptoms for it are so subtle they don't even get a cold. I had a slight cough but I had it for a while before the coronavirus broke out.
