Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

It's long past time that we all start formally complaining, and demanding that our money is not squandered on keeping RTE cronies in the good life...

We all need to speak up - not in an aggressive or nasty manner, but to be very clear about what we want from OUR publicly owned state broadcaster, if we're expected to fund it..

I suggest that we also email the Minister for Communications, insisting that they act in our national interests and take charge of RTE, to whip it into shape. No harm copying your FF / SF TDs also, given Richard Bruton is the outgoing Minister and may not get the gig again, when we finally get a new government.

Here are the contact details, so everyone can start emailing :

    https://about.rte.ie/contact/contact-details/

    https://www.dccae.gov.ie/en-ie/about-us/contact-us/Pages/Minister's-Office.aspx

    Thanks,

    G.

Of course it's true. We're talking about RTE here and no better woman to milk the absolute brains out of it than KT.

I would have said to Breslin that not everyone can afford to pay PR companies to get their ****e bands radio play.
he actually thinks he's some sort of mentor when in reality he is quite inexperienced and gigs have been gifted to him, like ACDC for ffs

It's insulting that this fella is presented as a credible figure in Irish music.

The Blizzards' music was really really weak by any standards. And he was an awful frontman and a poor singer. It's not like he even has one of those typical trained voices that you hear on Xfactor which, mundane as they are, are at least technically proficient.

Remember that 'Cant Stay Young Forever' song he released in an attempt to launch a solo career? Tacky, europop vibe off it - embarrassing lyrics. It would be giving the song too much credit to say that it was like something that got rejected as a possible Eurovision entry.

How this fella is allowed to be a judge of any sort of music is just crazy. Even on a programme like The Voice.

He knows what he's at. Throws a few quid at PR companies to get his name in the papers and interviews etc. He plays the game. He has tried everything! You name it...Rugby, Football, Music, Presenting, getting with a famous partner (well, someone well known to the press) spokesperson etc...And he's not very good at any of them! He just wants to be famous for the sake of it. He is a pair of beige trousers

I remember Niall Horan's solo album came out and Breslin was all over the papers saying, how proud he was of him for keeping his feet on the ground and how they're mates, mentored him blah blah blah.

    Bull****

Has Claire passed it on to others in RTE?? Tubridy has a cough and Miriam looked unwell last night..........maybe they need to sanitize the RTE canteen?

Maybe the word has got out across RTE, that there's particularly generous benefits, if you go out sick, while working for RTE?

    Thanks,

    G.

Given most of the 'big names' are contractors and not direct PAYE employees of RTE, they may not get paid if sick.

Absolute joke coming again from a shed surely someone else should be presenting the show, what is she trying to prove that she is a hero and deserves her big salary

She had a camera previously but now looks like a laptop she is looking into - she's not looking straight forward though.

There are going to be some horrendously difficult personal stories out of all of this.
Stay safe people and stay home.

Would the make up dept not be closed? Thus the person will simply be using personal make up, not TV style.

    Agree!

Sarah McInerney is doing a fine job!

I mean you didn't have Tubridy connecting in on Skype from his home cinema room, he just let Miriam run the show...
