Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I thought this was a current affairs show.

There must be nothing going on in the world.

I am actually getting a bit of a chuckle from the Claire Byrne Live shows, which takes items from current affairs and gives them a bit of a tongue-in-cheek twist. At the moment it could be hard to take, though, as things are getting very serious out there in our lives, and the bees has been paired right down for the next few weeks.

Hey Lottie, what make-up brand do you wear?

    Nutella!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,202 ✭✭✭Samsgirl

Lottie just looked and sounded awful. The accent is just dire. As for the make up, had to be Ronseal.

Ah Dustin is gas. Quip about Luke O'Neill working in the tyre centre was pretty funny

The coronavirus looks like planet Zog with pins stuck in for all the places Zig and Zag have been to. What is Claire not discussing this??

Dear Lord, Lottie Ryan is an oompah loompah Pinhead from Hellraiser.

This Kerry fella doesn’t need the pub to be open, he makes enough dosh from being on tv talking about his ould lad or his pub. Was he even a good gaa player?? Get him off.

For the love of god, z-lister paddy cole was only talking to his son and family on zoom yday, now RTÉ is doing a segment of it and he is all emotional. Why?? This show has become some horsh1te. Bring back the frontline with pat kenny.

I can see RTE being deemed a relic in 20 years time, it reminds me of the Abbey Theatre, only kept now for posterity and as an avenue for stubborn diehards who are refusing to give it up?

There is something about having a puppet on a contemporary current affairs show that does not sit all that well with me? I am not sure if I am being patronised or simply sniggered at?

I think it is worth adding that I watched the Muppet Show earlier and totally enjoyed it. Context is everything.

But the day Kermie and a Piggy turn up 10 minutes before the same producer is attempting to facilitate a national panic.. my eyebrows rise slightly and a mental line is drawn across my levels of toleration?

    Mnamana.

Gosh it looks like I dodged a bullet last night having missed it, sounds like it was horrendous with NEPOTISM alive and well at RTE (Gerry Ryan's Daughter). Just bizzare

Why are we being forcefed the same rte people as if they are representative of normal people - Lottie, Baz, Kathryn Thomas. These have all been on the few recent times I've put this 'serious' show on.

Saw bits of episodes over the last month or so. Claire interviewing randomers over zoom/skype regarding the covid vaccine. Why? Do they have some special knowledge to share with us? Nope! So why "interview" them? Makes no sense.

Then showing us a couple from Fair City getting a Flu vaccine. Em....why?
Then a dummy getting a dummy covid vaccine? Wtf? Are we so thick that we don't know what happens when you get vaccinated that it needs to be demonstrated?

This show is so, so poor. Has it always been thus or is it something to do with not being able to get guests due to Covid or something? It's an embarrassment for the national broadcaster who used to do current affairs reasonably well.

Questions and Answers was getting fairly jaded at the end of it's run but it was infinitely better than this muck.

It was replayed on RTE news now yesterday and god, it was truely awful, had a kind of pantomime feel to it, Poor Lottie needs to talk to wardrobe and make up, looked like she was wearing a Jump suit and if not, should have been to escape this bizzare nonsense.

I understood this was supposed to be a current affairs program, it's descended into a cheap cabaret. From the bizzare and actually quite disturbing vaccine mock up"s the previous social distancing mock up"s and Monday night's casting couch train wreck, surely RTE will spend dome time over Christmas digesting how this show has gone so wrong, even Dustin seemed out of place and there was even a tiny glimpse of Claire being embarrassed at this appalling spectle. The TV critics are bound to have a field day.

    Two words spring to mind-

    'Noel' and 'Kelly'

They should rename the organisation - The NKBC

Had to google him. I see he represents a fair few familiar faces. So is he peddling all these down RTE's throat?

    More misery porn from RTE

Herself and Tubridy seem to be having a competition as to who can cram in the most misery.

I see they are trouble for tonight's show.
They were going to broadcast it from outside the Matter Hospital but might not be now. Link below,
