Jamie Bryson, finally a voice of reason...

He was actually way more calm and articulate that I expected him to be. He was better than the DUP fella anyway

When Covid is over I am going to take my headset out the back garden and have a controlled explosion done on it.

Probably an ongoing civil war would follow

This , it’s the main reason I’d vote no . I don’t want 50 more years of troubles , bombs and innocent people being murdered . I’d imagine it might get a lot closer to home too

Yes, I agree with Jamie Bryson, the idea we are aiming for a 'new' Ireland where Brits can still be Brits is a load of nonsense. It's just a load of spin to convince the Brits to vote yes.

They can go back home if they are British go to Scotland or England or Wales and let us have our Island back and a United Ireland.
There I solved Gregory's three word problem for him.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

We like to play our football in Croke Park so we should have seats in the Dail.

Well luv there isn't a footballer in the League of Ireland who wouldn't snap the hand off Ole if they were offered a contract to play in Old Trafford. By her logic we should therefore go back into the UK.

The Unionist lawyer would like to see a welfare State in place before any united Ireland is agreed! Good to see they've got their priorities in place but she mustn't have heard about the whopper welfare system we have here...she mustn't be well read

I kind of disagree with Ferriter

Unionism today and recently is about being identified as British!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,132 ✭✭✭Mervyn Skidmore

Do these Unionists who couldn't imagine living in an irish state not understand how Irish people living in the north feel? Why do they feel it's fine for those Irish but preposterous for them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,532 ✭✭✭touts

Probably an ongoing civil war would follow

A United Ireland would result in more dead annually on this island than Covid-19 accounted for.

Surely it would be easier for the Nationalists just to travel a few miles into the republic.

I agree. There's a lot of naivety in this discussion.
