    Hi,

I am wondering what a blocklayer would charge to build a wall that needs 800 blocks and will include 5 piers. I am just looking for the labour cost as have all materials already.

Are blocklayers still charging by the block or is it a daily rate now?

Will they mix their own cement or will I also have to employ a labourer to work with blocklayer?

for that type of job you will be paying a daily rate but you should be able to get someone just to give you a lump sum price. Depending on your location the price will vary greatly. Ring around and you will get prices very quickly.

Quality and price can be very different in different places.

Ask for a price on the job, blocklayer will provide mixer, tools and labourer. You order blocks, caps, sand, cement and plasticiser.
