Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My current balaclava for using under helmet is not warm enough on the front.

    Started looking here:

    http://www.buffwear.co.uk/buff-adult-headwear/balaclava-cross-tech-buff
    http://www.buffwear.co.uk/buff-adult-headwear/balaclava-pro-buff

But can't figure out what's the difference between them...

The more expensive you go the warmer it will be, generally with Buff stuff (see what I did there? :P)

The one for €48 is a wind stopper. Unless you are cycling in really cold weather this one would be incredibly warm. I would go for one of the cheaper ones.

If you go to view product you have more information, such as the weight etc etc.

Bit pricey aren't they? I used the heavier ones for motorbikes.

I have a dhb one from wiggle now cost about €12. Keeps the cold and wind out well enough for me on the bicycle.

Yeah they are very expensive for what they are. You are buying into the Buff brand more than anything. Having said that, myself and my girlfriend have a buff original each and they are great. I have gotten a lot of use out of it.

Trespass in Dun Laoghaire have a 50% off everything sale so I got another one of their balaclava's for €6.50. Does the job well.

I bought one in Aldi s few months back, it does the job perfectly, I usually end up pulling the lower part under my chin as it can get too warm at times.

I bought a few Snoods in Penneys for €2 each.....skull cap and snood you dont have stop if you overheat...
One tip on the Penneys snood wash it before you wear it I nearly choked on a fluff ball off a brand new one.

I use a combination of a cheap Aldi skull cap (€4.99) and a dhb buff (approx €12)
Position buff over chin and towards the top of your head. Works a treat & toasty warm

I've used the Gore Windstopper helmet cap for the last two winters. You need a separate buff for your neck though. Was good this morning in -1c.

Very impressive for something so small. Size is a benefit when you want to bring & stuff it in your back pocket just in case.

This from BBB is what I use, good and keeps me warm. Quick to dry if it gets wet too.
