Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Animal suplex by Bader doubt it's enough

How either fighter thinks they will ever have a claim at a title shot is baffling.

What are they gonna do, bore Jones to death?

Davis is such a safety fighter, doesn't like getting hit at all. You can see the potential in him if he improves his boxing but man he is boring.

I'm slightly surprised, I thought Davis had the 3rd but, now that it's finally over.. let us never speak of that again :pac:

Joe Rogan's favourite match-up of the year is Gus vs. Rumble he just said.

Bit early to make such an outlandish statement, no? :pac:

I wish they would use different people in these promos. I couldn't care less what Rogan has to say.

    Hendo is 7/2. Couldn't resist a bet.

Tis surely one of them though. Gus getting his rematch but has to pull out another guy (DC) steps in that falls off captures the public so Gus has to wait......Meanwhile Rumble is on a roll....This fight arguably shouldn't be happening....but it is. I think Rumble takes it and lays down a big statement

Doesn't look like a good call to me

I wouldnt have any problems with that, from the top down camera Henderson looks clearly out for at least a second

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

Jeez, terrible stoppage there. Weird fight, what was up with Mousassi just before that pointing?

    good stoppage

    I thought it was poor.

I still think Hendo has a few fights left in him, just not against top level guys. Shogun should retire though.

    Sorry Dan.

Early stoppage though. Ref wasn't looking at Henderson in the eyes when he was rugby tackling him. Mousassi might still have finished it there but still a little too early.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,931 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

didnt think it was a bad stoppage myself

respect to mousasi for not going to town on him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

That was a completely fair stoppage. The way he hit the mat made the ref's decision easy. Head knocked straight back against the cage, dazed look on his face. 100% right decision, would be a great shame to see Hendo with lasting brain injuries.

Hendo - "I had a problem with my eye so i just started pressurizing him"

How the fcuk did you do that Dan, on your arse?

I love hendo but what a crock of crap he just came out with

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,931 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

hope to god they dont give dan another top ten guy next
its all about money though I suppose
    sick to death of it

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

Still think the stoppage was slightly early, the momentum going backwards landed him on his arse not a clean punch by Mousasi. However had the ref not got involved Mousasi could have unleashed on Hendo and the result would be the same. Mousasi held back when he moved in on top of Hendo and thats the only reason Hendo got the chance to try take him with the single leg as the ref grabbed him but that was Mousasi's decision, the ref should have only jumped in has Mousasi started dropping punches on Hendo and he not defended himself. Big fan of Hendo through the years but his chin is clearly not as good as it was and hes taken enough abuse over the years that I think its time he just hung up the gloves and avoids serious long term injuries.

Joe Rogan stirring it again. **** sake, if we start dogging refs over calls like that, it's only the fighters will suffer in the long run.

Of course it must be frustrating to be on the wrong end of a dubious call but in fairness I'd rather referees are overly cautious than allow a fighter take a chance with any unnecessary shots.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,931 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

if this were a three round match Id fancy rumble

over five I dont know but i dont think he should be such a big underdog either (11/4)

My initial thoughts were it was an early stoppage. But if the alternative is for the winner to absolutely maul another fighter with undefended punches to the head then I'll take that early stoppage every time. Disappointing for Dan but that's how it goes

Rooting for Rumble as I think he has a better chance of knocking out Jones than Gus.

Rumble's cone-shaped head is starting to annoy me. I'll go for Gus.

Rogan has been far too over the top lately. His ego is getting the better of him. Nothing has been particularly controversial tonight, the judges and refs are doing a fine job but Rogan wants to make controversy out of absolutely everything.

The worse thing is that an awful lot of people take his word as gospel and we'll see his opinions regurgitated all over the place now regarding the fights on this event. He's making a mockery out of things in my opinion, seriously needs to tone it down.

The stoppages are getting earlier and earlier, you have to give them every chance and that is not happening anymore.

There was nothing wrong with that stoppage. Where does rogan get off basically cutting the backs off referees and totally undermining them to the whole world. His job is to analyse yes, but he's not in there with the fighters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

You'd think the crowd would be a bit louder for their own man. They were louder for Rumble, albeit in a very different way...

Here we go. Anybody else hoping for a first round stoppage? :D Unfortunately there's more atmosphere in the ISS than in Stockholm this evening
