It was also on RTE1 (could have been on Scratch Saturday) on Saturdays

Great post!

I obviously remembered the theme tune but I think the thing that made me remember the show's name was the part of the title sequence where the snake kicks the O to turn Ovide into Video. That bit seemed to stick with me.

I remember this. I always thought the name Ovide sounded like a nutritional supplement for elderly people though
