Boots slouching around my ankles, help!

I bought a fabulous pair of over the knee leather boots recently. I absolutely love them and took them out today for the first time only to find myself pulling them up all day as they were slouching, what a disappointment! Anyone know how to stop this? I was thinking of maybe attaching some boning to the inside of them myself to keep them straight-ish. Or could a cobbler do something for me? Any advice appreciated!
