Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Finding contradictory stuff online but it looks like 5W40, however does anyone know if the Renault requires a specific grade of 10W40?

5w30 with a dpf and 5w40 without. Renault spec is RN710 for the 5w40 and rn720 for the 5w30.

The 5.30 elf oil of renault is reasonable money. About 40 for 5 litres. Stuck it in my dads laguna even though it doesnt have a dpf.

Excellent thanks. Now how can I tell if it has a DPF? Pretty sure it must being a 2010...

If the dip stick is part of the oil filler cap it's dpf. Also if you open the driver's door there should be a sticker showing the dpf. The sticker is just below the visible part of the driver's door lock.

Mine is a 2009 with the 86 bhp engine and no DPF and I use Halfords 5w40 synthetic that meets the RN0700/0710 spec. Normally I pay about 43 euro for 5 litres

But today I got 4 litres of 5w40 synthetic for 15 quid on a special offer :D I think 4 litres will be enough as I always have some left over when I use the 5 litre container.
