Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Should be 1-0

Van Gaal really is too clever for his own good at times. Playing players in their best positions is too simple for him.

Poor finish. Those chances dont come along very often against the big teams.

But against a team with phil jones they do!

Good thing Cambridge are not ping pong champions.

    Love the Cambridge keeper's kit.

Slow, predictable, uninspired... The players seem to lack freedom of expression, almost as if they are brainwashed into a system and philosophy. They seem shackled.

Yes, but that is how he got Schweinsteiger to be the player he is, converted winger.

Di Maria didn't fancy that at all , jumped out of it.

Falcao seems to be the new Diego forlan!

How can united not just put the ball down a string a few passes together.

You'd expect a PL club's technique etc. to show through

Cambridge have been the better team si far
Maybe having both Wilson and Falcao is too much unless they get a grip on the game

    Looked like a shove there.

United getting more control, but need to create more chances.

Di Maria is appalling at shooting.

Another reference to"Keown rules" and he'll start dishing out slaps

At what point do we revert to firing balls up to Fellaini?

Can't believe Utd can't get the ball down and work it through a mid-table league 2 side.

Why is Fellaini playing right wing, get Herrera on, someone who can pass and move and create space

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

On this evidence, you wouldn't pay Falcao £2,400 a week.

United are all over the place.

Undeserved 1-0 to United looks like it'll be.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Januzaj really needed to shoot there. He's so slow and killing play...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,333 ✭✭✭Saganist

Just looks like there is no ambition to try something in the final third.

Not a whiff of creativity, happy just to pass backwards and sideways and let someone else worry about it..while we look like we can give up chances easily.

Rojo has been our best player so far.

Fcuking hell shoot! Everything is going backwards!

Ah it'll be the usual - heroic home game performance which will not be enough as Cambridge tire and the Utd quality shows as the space appears.

Where the **** is Fellaini actually playing? Di Maria couldn't be interested at all, Cambridge should and deserve to be up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

Rojo has been superb. Never been bet. Doubt the BBC will even mention it though.

He is getting no service. If you are watching this match and thinking Falcao is the problem, you need to watch again.

There's a big problem at the moment with players refusing to at least try and take chances. For all AdM is fluffing shots, at least he's taking them. Januzaj, Fel, Carrick, they aren't even trying to pierce the defence. We need to be peppering them with shots...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Well Cambridge better finish it off though, they cost me 75 cents.

This is how it will be unless they nick one from a set piece.

    United look awful though.

The commentary team keep praising Cambridge for being well drilled, but they're being made look a lot better than they are by Utd's reluctance to go forward. A few fast attacks and they'd start to panic and make mistakes.

At the end of the half there Rojo just jogged through their midfield, why can't Januzaj and Di Maria start doing that? Di Maria has torn world class defences to shreds before, he looks a different player here.

Wilson is suffering also. Can't believe we're so slow playing it through the middle.

10/3 draw and utd full time. Some reason I didn't do it even I told everyone else to.

Januzaj is holding the ball up way too much. He's well able to take players on. I'd hate him to lose the risk factor that makes him dangerous.

    Will end 3-0

1 dimensional slow lacklustre rubbish again. Exactly who is playing in the centre of midfield? It's totally shapeless and no one apart from Falcao is showing for the ball in that area. Nothing new this season.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 234 ✭✭Dirty Steve

    Will end 3-0

    That's a bit much I'd say. 2-1 Cambridge.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,754 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

You could see Shearer as a striker seeing the why Falcao and Wilson are not having a great time.
    Getting very poor service.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,029 ✭✭✭tastyt

Januzaj, falcao, Carrick, blind, di Maria, Wilson. They are all ' nice ' players. This United team has a very soft look about it. Jones and fellaini at least stand up to the fight, bad as they are on the ball.

Rojo the only positive so far. Still expect United to win by a couple

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 488 ✭✭Rob Thomas

Same old one paced utd midfield although with Fellaini and Carrick that's no surprise.

Carrick has been a good servant but there's no place for him in this team anymore. Herrara would be more positive in 5 minutes than Carrick has been so far.

Jones has found his level too, and it's not Cambridge...if he was playing for them he would have been taken off. Absolutely incredible excuse for a professional footballer.

You need to play these teams at pace and stretch them with good passes in behind them to get their defenders turned ...any Sunday league manager could see that.

Is he getting much game time?

Jones the worst player on the pitch guys an absolute pity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

Well that was gash. Cambridge are just sitting in two banks of four and we're too slow and lethargic to break it down. Januzaj looks void of any confidence, last season he would have taken on a shot just before half time.

Haven't scored in 1st 45 in last 4. Falcao v stoke being the last time and that was from a corner!
