loan for house renovation?

    Hi everybody,
    I am in the process of buying a house.
    I got mortgage approved and not using the maximum I've been approved for.

    I need to do some important works before be able to enter in the house and I will need a loan for that.
    It would be heating system + changing windows and doors.

    The bank that is giving me the loan said they "could" approve this loan, but that would not the worth for how much it is. (?? not really clear).

    The bank where I have my current account won't give a personal loan if I am buying a house before 6 months that I started paying the mortgage.

    I am not sure about credit unions.

    Someone has some more info?
    I am looking at approx 10/15K
    I've hard something about home renovation scheme, but don't know much.
