    Hi,

The IAS will be in Sandymount on the 30th and Clontarf on the 31st.
If you bring the scope along we can have a look at it for you.

    Michael.

Sorry but the advice is always to avoid toy store 'telescopes' - they generally turn out to be worthless pieces of rubbish. A genuine telescope is a serious piece of kit and should only be purchased from reputable and specialised dealers.

You can get a quality pair of binoculars for under 100 euro.

I know .....its just she wanted one for her birthday and i was on a budget. Do my specs make any sense...is it any good?

It's just a toy I'm afraid, it's of no use for astronomical purposes.

If it is the telescope I linked to in my earlier reply.

The scope will be probably just about OK for observing the Moon and that's all. If you can repack it and have the till receipt, I'd bring it back and ask for your money back (not a credit note).

Have a look at the links provided in the earlier post from Novaman http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=93986494&postcount=2
Buy a pair of Binoculars with a Tripod, they'll give you much more bang for your buck and are the ideal way to start observing.
