just in from an afternoon out with the daughter and picked up a sega classics cd for the ps2 and space harrier is on it..played this on the spectrum im nearly sure and i forgot how good it is..jesus the ps2 games can be bought for little or nothing these days..

Well worth, if you have a 3ds in the house, buying it on the EShop. The original is remastered in 3d and it's brilliant.

You can find decent flash based Spectrum emulators and you can probably play the Space Harrier you remember there.

Just checked out Speccy Space Harrier on youtube as I've never seen it before - holy crap, how'd they manage that framerate??? That's really impressive.
