Showers have no problem making it across the country sofar. Looking good for tonight guys

Before the shower clouds rolled in the radiant heat from the sun was noticeable when out of the wind. Gives me some hope for Spring!

The radiant heat you feel will fuel the showers ;)

Not making it to Dublin! :) Sunny here all morning (since a brief sleety/snow burst around 8.30).

Lovely sunny day here in South Dublin City centre!

This is why you need to take snow accumulation charts with a pinch of salt. According to the latest GFS, about 1/4 of the country should have had a dusting to 1cm of snow already. :o

Things should improve in the northwest from around 4pm onwards though.

Recent snow flurry here in West Limerick.

Sun is shining brightly between the clouds. Can see a number of showers in the distance.

Wind has calmed down considerably. Overall it's quite a nice day :)

Nothing significant, a few overnight sleet showers, maybe some blowing snow above Sandyford and the hills. Risk of fun and /or disruption is low.

Are you getting swayed by the colours in your chart?

no not at all. taken the wind direction and were it originated from and dew points will have to come into play as well as temps at 850hps.... i just dont think it will be as bad as what met e are saying thats all...see wat the next run comes up with.

Let's hope MT's call on the weekend and next week for possibly significant snowfall on the east coast, will come to pass. I wouldn't be holding out much hope for that to happen this side of the weekend, maybe a dusting on the Dublin/Wicklow hills...

Didn't last long in waterford ... is more due ???

No lying snow here, some bad gusts with the hailstones though.

South Kerry, 400 ft asl A pattern here. Calmer then gusts and hail and some snow sweeps in from the west. The near mountains have a very slight hoar frost effect .. then sun then back to the pattern. The bitter cold is unrelenting,, lovely fragrance of wood smoke and turf smoke from the range in my kitchen... the aroma of an Irish winter ;)
