Still very stormy here in Achill with passing hail showers. Electricity went at 1pm. Landline is dead too, had to switch to 2G to get a mobile signal :(

same thing has happened to me as well, that big shower was heading here but has dipped further south and broken over as it was about to hit here, I can see all the shower cloud to my south and south-west.

I think we got that last lot.. South Kerry.. actually started to stick a little.I had to go out to check my blind dog had found her way in and it was like nettles on face and eyes,, sun now so it will vanish again

That shower took a very southerly track just missed us here, looks intense!!

Blizzard like in Claregalway but flakes are pretty small. Still starting to stick on grass and that but we'd need a few hours of it to make things interesting.

yeah it was looking very promising then dropped south all of a sudden completely missing Meath and Dublin, looks like a decent run of showers over south Kildare and Wicklow over the next few hours but they will propably turn to rain as the milder sector is approaching. Tomorrow will see near normal values then back to slightly colder conditions again for the weekend.

More snow now than yesterday evening/last night in Galway seems to be the opposite of what was forecast:pac:

Just been in loughrea there and it's pretty bad white out.

Been under precip. for over 15 minutes apparently but nothing has fallen. Shower must be just evaporating to nothing literally km's to my north. Hate these close calls, all the buildup of a decent shower but in the space of 5 minutes nada. Interesting really, N.Kildare always seems like the boundary for me in a NW wind, showers can hold plenty of uumph till then but just implode in minutes once they get to that point. Wicklow mountains must just lap all the moisture up when it gets this close.

EDIT: Spitting some sleety stuff now. Ah sure, won't be the last of the winter, for any of us!

Ground finally dry in Dublin 3/5 now. If we had this mornings blizzard right now it'd be sure to stick.

heavy snow in maynooth and sticking ......our four year old felt his first true snow flake. the delight on his face is priceless. will make the most as it shall be gone as quick as it arrived.

We seemed to have got a decent snow shower out of nowhere in maynooth

Why are beefy-looking showers that are on track for Dublin falling apart in the last 40 miles or so? Dublin seems to have a snow shield for this event...

Most likely it wouldn't, dry/wet ground doesn't really matter.
