Coming down thick and heavy now (in Dublin 16). Big fat flakes sticking to everything. 1.8c atm.

White out Caatleknock...all white and temperature near freezing....

It has been very cold all day with the snow cover keeping temeratures below 1.0C all day, the highest ironically was at 1.3C this morning at 5.50am and the lowest at -0.1C at 11.45am.

So the snow didn't melt apart from what was on surfaces like the roads and concrete surfaces.

Bright at the moment with a temp of 0.3C.

decent snow coming in leopardstown too, sticking to grass, but not road or paths yet. temps dropping too

Large fluffy flakes coming down heavy for the past 10 minutes. Starting to stick on cars, walls etc. If it keeps up it will make the commute interesting this evening.

Live Drive service in Dublin reporting problems for traffic on M50 northbound around Dundrum - Ballinteer due to accumulations. Snowing on most parts of M50 too. Good night for a bit of overtime.

Pelting down in the City Centre. Still not sticking, but trying very hard to.

I was in and around Carlingford County Louth working today so I thought I would take a quick spin up the Coilte forest park. Its not very high, but you only have to go a few hundred feet to see much more snow.

I recorded the drive up which is uploading to youtube, so I will post that link when its ready to go.

Bucketing down at the Red Cow M50 exit. Heavy flakes and very intense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,677 ✭✭✭Rougies

That band seems to be dying on radar, but it's just gotten even heavier here now. Accumulating on everything including roads.

Edit, just beefed up again on 16:45 radar!, rush hour will be interesting!

here we go in leopardstown! big juicy flakes, paths and roads starting to stick now.
looks like proper winter at last!

Rain/Snow in Cork City. Not a hope of it sticking by the looks of things.

A little bit up here in Swords/Malabide now, pure snow. Don't think it will stick, the ground is very wet.

Loving snow but forget going near the M50 unless you have to I reckon, I'd say it'll be a messy rush hour today.

stopped here about 10 mins and starting to melt, was very nice while it lasted! a few hours of that would have provided a real nice covering.
