Wondering where to get a good working springer spaniel bitch pup for shooting, free of hip and eye problems.. Around Donegal, Northern Ireland and border counties. Thanks

Try posting in hunting forum?would be better ideas on working lines there.

Rule of thumb for helath testing in dogs..ask to see certs
hips its the parents who need to scored not the pups.each parent has a score and combined score on both hips should be below the breed standard.(less than 15 in the case of springers ) There are also genetic tests availiable for different diseases.
The most common cert would be parents clear of PRA a genetic issue which can cause blindness in some pups.
Good breeders will have certs of those 2 tests avaiable to view.considering you want a healthy pup who will grow into a healthy dog hunting down a good breeder who checks their health tests their stock for these relatively common issues in the breed should help.

A health check from the vets is completely different kettle of fish to health tests.it just means a vet looked at them and found no notable issues while they got their vaccs.These checks dp not help to find future hip and eye issues.
